PHOENIX

The City of Phoenix has a strong commitment to sustainabiltiy with wide-ranging programs and lofty goals. In 2016 Phoenix City Council adopted the 2050 Environmental Sustainability Goals which articulate the community’s desired long-term outcomes and aspirations for a sustainable city.

Arizona Sustainability Alliance is enthusiastic to work with the city toward achieving their goals. The over-arching goal areas to become a socially, economically and environmentally resilient city include:

  • Building and Land Use
  • Transportation
  • Zero Waste
  • Water Stewardship
  • Parks, Preserves & Open Space
  • Clean Air
  • Local Food Systems

The City of Phoenix is poised to be a leader in government and model for other cities as they strive to become a carbon neutral city operating on 100% renewable energy.
