Project Description

YOUNG MINDS, BIG HEARTS

Arizona Sustainability Alliance is developing a pilot program to partner with schools to teach the next generation about sustainability at the three primary grade levels – Elementary, Middle School and High School.

For elementary and middle school, our program Eco League allow students to progressively learn based on their grade level, adding to their sustainability knowledge as the get older. Volunteers use the curriculum to teach four lessons a year that maintain science education standards, and students learn through fun, hands-on activities.

For high school, we are already pioneering an environmental service systems curriculum to become state CTE certified at Tempe Union High.  The curriculum is piloting this year with application and evaluation in Spring of 2018 for broader inclusion across the school district.
