This week, we met with representatives from Environment Arizona’s Solar Program to discuss work they’re doing and to brainstorm new ways to help Arizona become our country’s solar leader. Arizona can’t be successful alone, though, and Environment Arizona shared excellent information ranging from Chicago’s Sustainable Chicago 2015 agenda where solar is a prominent feature, to Fort Collins, Colorado’s Utilities for the 21st Century initiative.
Environment Arizona and APS

We continue to follow APS’s Solar Partner Program where roughly 1,600 APS customers have allowed Arizona’s largest energy provider to install solar on their homes in exchange for a $30 monthly credit on their bills. We are also continuing to look for ways to work with APS and their parent company Pinnacle West Capital Corporation to expand their solar portfolio. We are exploring ways to encourage the company to set a goal for renewables that outpaces the Corporation Commission’s goal of having 15% of Arizona’s energy derived from renewable sources by 2025.
