Leadership Update
February 25, 2019
by Aubrey Coffey-Urban – Programs Manager

This week, we had our second, very successful, Volunteer Orientation! We had a great turnout and all of our priority leaders spoke wonderfully about their projects. Kudos to Keith Bujak, our Volunteer Management Director, for putting on such a great event. Thank you to everyone who came out to meet with us and tell us what you’re interested in. We enjoyed talking to all of you and we hope to see you in the future. For those who didn’t get to come this time and want to come check us out, watch for our next orientation in April!

Later this week, we’ll have a special planting at North Mountain for the Green Biz Conference. In partnership with the City of Phoenix, American Forests, and Microsoft, we will be planting 75 native trees and plants along the Penny Howe Trail with the help of about 40 GreenBiz Conference attendees. Below are some before pics of the area we will be helping to restore with this planting. Stay tuned for the after pics in further updates, or feel free to go out and check out our work for yourself the next time you’re out enjoying North Mountain. A big thank you to Kelsey McKeighan, AZSA’s Adopt-A-Park Priority Lead, for planning this planting!
