Project Description

We plan to take sustainability to Mesa neighborhoods — simultaneously educating residents and directly implementing sustainability projects.
According to City of Mesa staff, one of the biggest needs is educating residents about opportunities in sustainability that are already available to them. To meet that need, we propose to hold monthly neighborhood sustainability activities where we cooperate with the city and other local organizations to make presentations. But we don’t want to stop there! The other half of these activities will be directly carrying out a sustainability initiative within the neighborhood.
Current efforts include:

1. Researching and networking with local government, businesses and organizations involved in sustainability.
2. Researching and reaching out to Mesa neighborhoods to determine suitable sustainability projects that meet residents’ needs and desires.
3. Researching funding opportunities.
