This month our team volunteered at The Arizona Worm Farm as apart of our Help-A-Farm program. We helped to prepare 50 vermicomposting bins to be distributed to teachers for classroom composting education. Each teacher will be sharing this with at least 30 students, meaning over 1500 students will directly benefit from this program. We were so impressed by everything the farm is doing and can’t wait to go back!
We are still in the process of scheduling our May Help-A-Farm event so stay tuned for more details soon!
As the school year comes to a close, we are working on wrapping up our Sow It Forward: Vertical Garden project and Food Tech For The Future program. We will be working on breaking down the school gardens for summer break later next month, so if you are interested in helping please feel free to send me an email.
We are still looking for a videographer for our Mayas Farm documentary. This project intends on making a short film about the wonderful sustainability practices happening at Mayas Farm to help the Renewable Energy priority raise money for the Solar Installation Project at the farm. If you’d like to hear more or are interested in helping, please reach out to me.
Our monthly meeting will be held on Friday, April 26 from 6-7 pm at The Grand in Downtown Phoenix. Please join if you’d like to learn more about the food systems priority, or are interested in helping out!
Have a happy Earth month!
