Things sure are cookin’ in our food systems priority! We found out this week that we won The Woodside Community grant from ASU to support our Sow It Forward: Vertical Garden project. We have been working hard to get the first round of indoor, vertical gardens in The Fowler Elementary School District, and will be starting up the second round soon. Thanks to all the volunteers who have helped make this happen!
Our team has also been working with Microsoft to coordinate the Food Tech for The Future project, where we will be implementing food computer and digital farming education into a local high school. We’ve been meeting with schools, creating tech contacts, and have found some great computer experts to assist with building the computer. We are so excited to bring this project into fruition!
Our next Help-A-Farm will be at The Farm at Agritopia on Sunday, February 24th. Please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to help or hear more details.
Lastly, our food systems monthly meeting will be held on Friday, January 25th at The Churchill. We will be discussing these projects, and others. Please join if you’d like to learn more or hear how you can help! Also, let me know if you plan on attending so I can make sure we have enough space reserved. Thank you, and I hope to see you there!
